The Finishing School

The antebellum home of Senator Oliver Prince was known as “The Oaks” near Kingston.  Prior to the Civil War, a boarding school was operated in this home and was called “The finishing School”.  Well known families of Georgia have been associated with the home including Dr. Alex Harris , whose son, Nat Harris, was Governor of Georgia and founder of Georgia Tech.
