Corra’s Library was her “writing place”. She would walk across her lawn with her Great Dane (Bosco) at her side. She would seclude herself in this lil cabin, built a couple of years (abt 1914) after she purchased the property and write. The cabin contains her original Underwood typewriter and one of her book cabinets.

Ms. Harris was a prolific writer, with over 20 novels, 200 articles, short stories and 100 book reviews to her credit. She wrote for major magazines: Ladies Home Journal, Saturday Evening Post, Good Housekeeping and Harpers. She was also America’s 1st female WWI correspondent in the battlefields of France.

Many of her original writings are in archives at various universities: KSU, Emory, Oglethorpe, UGA, Rollins and Harvard.

* one sad story. A thief broke into this Library a number of years ago, stealing many of her original manuscripts. The thief was never caught nor were the papers ever found.
