The date that Pleasant Olive Baptist Church was established is unknown. According to Bartow County deed records, the land for the church was purchased on April 12, 1940 from the Board of Education of Bartow County for $100.00. There were two stipulations as part of the deed: one, that if the land were very abandoned for church purposes, that the land were revert back to the grantor, and two, that the grantor reserved “the right to use the present building or any building hereafter erected upon said property for school purposes, said building or buildings to be kept in a good state of repair by the grantee.” Pleasant Olive Baptist Church is located at 240 Falling Springs Road, Rydal, GA 30171, viewable on this map of Bartow County Baptist churches: https://goo.gl/maps/9uTux1G4ZvQ2.
