Olive Vine Baptist Church was established in the 19th century. There are several conflicting dates as to when the church was exactly established, which makes it difficult to determine the exact year. In 1987, a newspaper account states that the church documents date back as far as 1853, but the church land was not deeded until May 1888.  A more recent newspaper account, from 2008, says that the church was established on October 31, 1880. Despite the unclear start date, Olive Vine Baptist Church was alive and well at the turn of the century. In 1932, a tornado hit the church and bowed in the west side of the structure. As far as can be told from the available information, the original structure is still standing. In 2008, a marker was placed at the church for HGB Turner, who donated the land to the church. Olive Vine Baptist Church is located at 132 Olive Vine Church Rd, Rydal, GA 30171, which can be viewed on this map of Bartow Baptist Churches: https://goo.gl/maps/9uTux1G4ZvQ2. The church cemetery is located on the same property behind the church building.
