Formerly the Cassville Colored School built in the 1880’s by local African Americans as a one room school house. The school continued until 1921 when it was replaced by the Noble Hill School, a Rosenwald school built strictly for black students and is considered to be the first such school in northwest Georgia. Noble Hill operated until 1955 when it was consolidated by the county into the Bartow Elementary School. Noble Hill is 1 of 5 out of 5,000 Rosenwald schools still standing.
